Silver Tower Cafe Restaurant sits in the heart of Richmond at 8500 Alexandra Rd #100, Richmond, BC V6X 3L4, Canada and can be reached at +1 604-207-1199. Known for comforting Cantonese classics in a relaxed dining hall setting, Silver Tower Cafe Restaurant has become a trusted stop for locals who want generous portions, honest flavors, and prices that feel fair. Within the first visit, many guests notice the steady rhythm of service, the hum of conversation, and plates that arrive steaming and satisfying.

A Cantonese cafe rooted in everyday comfort

Silver Tower Cafe Restaurant is not a flashy fine dining spot. It reflects the long tradition of Hong Kong style cafes that focus on speed, warmth, and practical cooking. The room feels like a cafeteria style space, simple but clean, where friends meet for lunch, families gather after shopping, and office workers slip in for a quick bowl of noodles or baked rice.

This style of Cantonese restaurant is about reliability. The menu reads like a greatest hits list of comfort food that many grew up with. Regulars often say the food is good, the service is fine, and the value is right for the portion size. These details build trust over time and explain why the cafe stays busy.

What people love most about the food

Many reviews highlight how reasonably priced the dishes are for the quality offered. Guests appreciate that the flavors stay consistent. There is no attempt to reinvent classic recipes. Instead, the kitchen leans into tradition and keeps things familiar.

A few items appear again and again in customer comments. Pork chop baked rice is often mentioned as a favorite, with tender meat and a rich onion sauce that soaks into the rice. Another crowd pleaser is the BBQ duck fried rice, where smoky slices of duck add depth to a simple stir fry.

Portions that satisfy without excess

One of the biggest reasons people return is portion size. Plates come out hearty but not wasteful. You leave full without feeling weighed down. This balance is rare and appreciated, especially for those who visit during lunch breaks.

A closer look at the menu

The menu at Silver Tower Cafe Restaurant is long but approachable. It covers baked rice dishes, noodle bowls, congee, sandwiches, and drinks that feel straight out of a Hong Kong cafe.

Signature baked rice and pasta dishes

Baked dishes are a house specialty and form the heart of the menu.

Pork Chop with Rice in Onion Sauce stands out with its savory gravy and crispy cutlet. Baked Pork Chop Rice and Cutlet Pork Chop with Rice offer similar comfort with slight variations in seasoning.

Those who prefer pasta can try Baked Spaghetti Bolognese or 白汁磨菇粟米意粉, which is spaghetti with cream sauce, mushrooms, and corn. Another popular choice is Baked Bass Fillet and Spinach on Rice in Cream Sauce, a softer dish that feels light yet filling.

Fried rice and noodle favorites

Yang Chow Fried Rice remains a classic, loaded with bits of shrimp, ham, and egg. Salted Fish with Chicken Fried Rice is a bold option for diners who love traditional Cantonese flavors.

Noodle lovers gravitate toward Beef Brisket Chow Mein with Seasonal Vegetables and Pan Fried Flat Rice Noodle with Sliced Beef. Both deliver a mix of chew, aroma, and umami that makes them ideal comfort meals.

Shrimps and Swirl Egg with Rice Noodle offers a softer texture and a gentle seafood taste that feels soothing.

Soups, congee, and cafe staples

For something lighter, the Cream of Corn Soup and Soup of the Day work well as starters. Beef Congee is another quiet star, simple and nourishing.

Cafe style sandwiches round out the menu. The Club Sandwich with Fries and the Ham and Egg Sandwich with Fries are easy picks for those who want something quick but still warm and filling.

Drinks that complete the experience

No Hong Kong style cafe feels complete without iced drinks. Iced Lemon Tea, also written as Lemon Ice Tea, is refreshing and cuts through rich flavors. Iced Coffee is another staple that pairs well with baked rice or sandwiches.

Atmosphere and service

The atmosphere stays casual at all times. You will not find elaborate decor or mood lighting here. Instead, you get bright tables, open space, and a clear view of staff moving quickly between orders.

Service is often described as fine and efficient. Staff members are used to handling busy hours and know how to keep things moving without making guests feel rushed. This approach suits the cafeteria like environment and matches the expectations of regulars.

Why locals keep coming back

Trust is built through consistency. Silver Tower Cafe Restaurant does not rely on trends or seasonal hype. It relies on delivering the same satisfying meals week after week.

People also appreciate the pricing. With food that feels home cooked and portions that make sense, it is easy to see why many say it is good quality Chinese food at a reasonable cost. This matters in a city where dining out can quickly become expensive.

Who will enjoy dining here

This Cantonese restaurant suits many types of diners. Office workers find it easy for lunch. Families like the simple menu that appeals to all ages. Solo diners feel comfortable eating alone in the relaxed dining hall. Visitors who want to explore Richmond food culture get an honest taste of Hong Kong cafe tradition.

It is not the place for a romantic date night, but it is perfect for everyday meals that feel familiar and grounding.

A dependable part of Richmond dining

Silver Tower Cafe Restaurant has earned its reputation by staying true to what it does best. Cantonese comfort food, baked rice dishes, fried noodles, and iced tea served in a friendly, unpretentious space. Each plate reflects care without complication, and every visit feels like a return to something known.

For those seeking a place where food is good, service is steady, and the bill feels fair, this cafe continues to stand tall in the Richmond dining scene.

Prices have gone up over the years but food quality has been pretty consistent over the last decade. The servers here are certified GOATs and efficiently take care of 15+ tables by themselves and work the cash register too. To be honest I would only recommend ST as a late night spot but of that category, it is probably the best. Drinks are solid as well, expect to spend $15-25/person. My favourites are their western Hk cafe dishes such as the baked rice dishes, the clubhouse sandwich, and the three choice. Their cutlet fish and pork are great.

This place is real og and it's nearing 2 decades. Silver tower is a heavyweight contender for Hong Kong style cafe. This location has been a fantastic staple. The food is delicious. The parking is terrible. The Cafe Aunties can be bi polar at times. It's cash only and don't you ever forget that 10% minimum tip haha. Actually I think it's 12% minimum tip now. I've eaten so many dishes here over the years. Most of them are late night ones too. This place is great comfort food.

One of the best HK-style cafe food I've ever had in Vancouver. Inside was nice and bright. Rows filled with happy customers and appetizing food. Came here with a really special friend who recommended me a tasty pork chop rice dish that was amazing!! The auntie servers were ALL super friendly and nice, so I HOPE they get raises and get tipped really well Will definitely come back again -- definitely recommend.

Ordered Baked Portugese Chicken for dinner, the amount of rice and chicken was generous and was absolutely delicious. First of all, the fried rice was well made. Not sticky or mushy, with a little bit of chewiness and eggy. Secondly was the chicken, tender and well seasoned. Thirdly there were some fried potatoes as a side, which was crispy. Finally was the soul, the Portugese sauce. It was perfectly seasoned, not too salty and with a hint of coconut milk. The only complaint that I can make is that if they can put some onions or carrots as a side, it will even be better, but I would give it a 5/5.

Late dinner on Friday, no parking outside the restaurant, hence 4 out of 5 stars. They are very reasonably priced, especially with other restaurants pricing keep going up, which make it a even better deal. I wasn’t expecting the quality to be this good, because of the low price. The fish was cooked perfectly, chicken was just average, but the portion size was huge. The tomato soup was a little on the small side, but overall this is a pretty good place.
